Merchant Tax Report

MTR

Amazon India's per-seller settlement report, issued weekly, that documents every order, commission, fee, tax, and deduction for the reporting period.

The Merchant Tax Report (MTR) is Amazon India's weekly settlement export for a single seller. Each line is an order or an adjustment, carrying the full fee breakdown — commission, shipping, closing and referral fees — along with GST on platform fees and any promotional adjustments. It is the primary source of truth for Amazon India settlement reconciliation, and it supports the check in both directions: sellers match MTR lines against the bank statement to confirm every settled order actually reached the bank, and match their internal order system against the MTR to confirm every order eventually settles. Both directions matter — an order missing from the MTR is unsettled revenue, while an MTR line missing from the bank is a settlement reported but never paid. The format also drifts: Amazon periodically adds columns for TCS components, state-specific GST and new promotional fee types, so a process with hard-coded column mappings breaks on each update while schema auto-detection absorbs it.

Verifying an MTR by hand means rebuilding every fee for every order. ReconPe reads the MTR natively, recomputes each fee, and shows the orders where Amazon's number and the expected number disagree.
